The Red Fox is a remarkably adaptable animal. It thrives in a wide variety of habitats, from farmland and forests to mountain environments and even the outskirts of towns and cities. An opportunistic species, it makes the most of the resources available in its surroundings, which largely explains its extensive distribution.
