Between the 9th and 15th centuries, this powerful kingdom built monumental cities, of which Angkor remains the most spectacular legacy. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument ever constructed and one of the finest masterpieces of Khmer architecture.
